So, today was day number 2 of my many, many, many days of training for the marathon. It was another 3 mile run. I did the same pace as yesterday, but today was a little bit more difficult. My body needs to get used to running for longer than 15 minutes. I could really feel the tension in my legs this morning, which probably means that I need to stretch before I start my runs. Anyways, I was able to pull through and get the 3 miles done. Tomorrow looks like it will be the same routine. I am striving for FRIDAY which is my REST DAY!!
While I was running, I started thinking about how LONG marathons are. With where I am at right now, 30 minutes of running seems like forever, and add 23 more miles... YIKES. I know my pace will vary as I continue to train, but the thought of running for several hours, without stopping, is a little nerve rattling. Can I do it? I think the reason I want to do this so badly is because I want to prove to myself that I do have the discipline to achieve this and that I have the focus that is needed.
I am interested to see how things go this weekend as my show picks up again and I will be out late most likely drinking... I can do it :D
